Celebrate Black History Month in Henderson with Nationally Acclaimed Musicians and Storytellers

Celebrate Black History Month at Water Street Plaza Amphitheater in Henderson with nationally acclaimed musicians and storytellers beginning Saturday, February 4.

Throughout February, the City of Henderson is hosting three concert events to include performances of the following renowned artists:

Gospel Fest 2023 | Saturday, February 4, from noon to 3 p.m.

Experience a free and uplifting concert hosted by Brother Paul from the “The Guardian of Gospel” program on KCEP FM featuring local pastors and gospel artists, including the Sons of Soul, acclaimed recording artist Brent Jones and many more!

Mario’s Westside Market and Cooking with Gas will be on site serving a variety of soul and southern food for purchase.

Street Corner Renaissance | Saturday, February 18, at 7 p.m.

As seen on NBC’s “The Sing Off,” Street Corner Renaissance’s energetic and versatile live performance offers audiences an authentic a cappella street corner experience filled with soul, doo-wop and infectious harmonies.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 the day of.

Fiddlin’ with Stories | Saturday, February 25, at 7 p.m.

Enjoy a free concert featuring master storyteller Charlotte Blake Alston and violinist Diana Monroe as they celebrate the role of stringed instruments in African and African American culture and history.

Alston is a highly acclaimed artist and has performed at prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center Institute, Smithsonian Institution, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and more.
