Clark County leaders held a grand opening ceremony for a new $10 million fire station in southwest Las Vegas Valley.

The 10,482 square feet facility was made possible due to a development agreement with the Howard Hughes Corporation who provided development services along with the property, according to a news release shared by the county.

“Fire Station 35 is an incredibly valuable contribution to Clark County and the residents and businesses it will serve in the southwest part of our valley,” Commissioner Justin Jones, whose Commission District F includes the new station, said in the new release. “We are grateful to The Howard Hughes Corporation for working with our Fire Department and Real Property Management Department to design and build a station that will meet our service demands today and well into the future. It’s a great example of the work that can be accomplished when the public and private sector team up for the good of our community.”

The fire station is located near the intersection of Hualapai Way and Flamingo Road and provides service east and west of Hualapai Way, from north to Desert Inn and south to Hacienda.

According to Kevin T. Orrock, President, Las Vegas Region, The Howard Hughes Corporation: “As community builders, we know that public safety is fundamental to quality of life. We also understand the value of public-private partnerships that help to ensure our communities and residents have access to public safety protections. We are pleased to partner with Clark County on this project and welcome Fire Station 35 to Summerlin.”
