Congresswoman Susie Lee, who represents Nevada’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to address several issues and celebrations relevant to her constituents and national discourse.
On May 5, 2026, Lee marked Cinco de Mayo by stating: “¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo! Today we celebrate the resilience, culture, and contributions of Mexican Americans who continue to shape southern Nevada and our country every day.”
The following day, May 6, she addressed reproductive rights in a post that read: “Today, I stood with 250+ lawmakers in defense of a woman’s right to make her own health care choices. No court or judge should prevent women from accessing mifepristone. I urge SCOTUS to do the right thing and keep this safe, effective health care accessible.” The statement comes amid ongoing debates about access to mifepristone—a medication used for medical abortions—and calls for judicial restraint regarding its availability.
Later on May 6, Lee highlighted National Nurses Day by advocating for legislation she sponsors: “Happy National Nurses Day! We should pass my bipartisan Train More Nurses Act so that we tackle our nursing shortage and ensure southern Nevadans can access the health care they need.” The proposed act aims to address shortages in the nursing workforce affecting Nevada and other states.
Lee has served as U.S. Representative for Nevada’s 3rd District since replacing Jacky Rosen in 2019. Born in Canton, Ohio in 1966 and now residing in Las Vegas at age 56, Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
