UNLV junior guard Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn and freshman forward Tyrin Jones received All-Mountain West honors for the 2025-26 season, according to a March 10 announcement from the conference. The awards were determined by votes from the league’s head coaches and select media.

The recognition highlights individual achievements within the UNLV men’s basketball program during the current season. These honors reflect both players’ contributions on the court and their impact in conference play.

Gibbs-Lawhorn was named Newcomer of the Year and earned first-team All-Mountain West recognition. This marks only the second time a UNLV player has received Newcomer of the Year in Mountain West history, with Mike Moser last earning it in 2012. Gibbs-Lawhorn is also UNLV’s first first-team recipient since Bryce Hamilton in 2022. He led the Mountain West in scoring with an average of 23.6 points per game during conference play, topped the league in three-point field-goal percentage at 47.7%, and led in three-pointers made per game at 3.6. He ranked second in field-goal percentage (53.5%), sixth in free-throw percentage (84.4%), sixth in steals (1.6 per game), and third in minutes played per game (35.7). Notably, he recorded two of the highest-scoring games this season with a career-high 42 points against UNR on Feb. 28 and 36 points against Boise State on Feb. 13.

Jones was selected to the all-defensive team and received honorable mention All-Mountain West honors, becoming UNLV’s first all-defensive team member since Luis Rodriguez in 2024. During conference play, Jones averaged 13.2 points per game, led the league with a field-goal percentage of 60.3%, and topped all players with two blocks per contest. He was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week twice this season, including most recently this past week.

Both players contributed significantly to UNLV’s recent success as the team has won six of its last nine games heading into postseason play.

Looking ahead, UNLV will face Wyoming in the first round of the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Men’s Basketball Championship on Wednesday, March 11 at noon.
