The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cited CMJJ Gourmet, Inc. in Henderson twice during a March 31 inspection related to Foodborne Biological Hazards, data from the FDA’s website shows.
According to the FDA website, the company received the following citations:
- ‘You chose to comply with the requirements for a very small importer, but you did not document that you meet the definition of a very small importer annually each year after importing food as a very small importer.’
- ‘As a very small importer, you did not obtain written assurance, every 2 years after initially importing a food, that your foreign supplier produced the food in compliance with process and procedures that provide the required level of public health protection.’
The FDA conducts regular facility inspections nationwide to determine if both workplaces and products meet FDA standards and regulations established to protect public health. Inspection outcomes are publicly posted.
The FDA states on its website that the agency is chiefly responsible for overseeing the safety and quality of human and animal drugs, biological products, medical supplies and tobacco products.
