Clark County will begin a retrospective exhibit to honor the victims of the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting five years ago.

The exhibit, “5 Years Later: Remembering 1 October & Becoming Vegas Stronger,” will display items from the Clark County Museum’s 22,000-piece 1 October collection, according to a county news release.

“It’s important for us to honor the lives lost and forever changed because of 1 October,” Clark County Commission Chairman Jim Gibson said.

The exhibit will run from Sept. 23 to Jan. 30, 2023, at the exhibit hall at 1830 S. Boulder Highway. Among the items that will be displayed will be signs, posters and letters from the museum’s collection.

“Our community can be proud of how we responded to the darkness of that day and remember the outpouring of love and support we received from each other and from across the country and around the world,” Gibson said. “It’s also important to recognize the strength and resiliency that we continue to demonstrate as a community in response to the tragedy with every passing year.”

Moreover, an area musician and 1 October survivor, will start the ceremony by performing his tunes, “Forever Family” and “58 Angels.” A complimentary exhibit will also be held in downtown Las Vegas at the Rotunda Gallery on the first floor of the Clark County Government Center from Sept. 28 to Oct. 13.
