Carrington

Carrington College-Las Vegas issued the following announcement on August 19.

Carrington College in Las Vegas is pleased to announce that Hugh Jensen has been appointed to serve as the new campus director where he will lead the campus operations with a focus on student success.

After graduating from the University of Oregon, Jensen began his career at General Motors in the finance industry. He immediately found success and eventually served in various leadership roles. However, by early 2004 he decided to revisit the passion he had for education while working in student leadership roles at the University of Oregon as an undergrad.

“Around seventeen years ago I found my passion for education and its impact on students and their families,” said Jensen. “It was always very personal to me, as my mother was a non-traditional student that used education as a means of providing stability and opportunity for our family when I was growing up,” added Jensen. “I have been fortunate enough to have been in the education and personal development space ever since, and relish in the opportunity to work in a field that gives me intense satisfaction that what we do matters.”

Since leaving the finance industry to pursue his passion in education, Jensen has served in various leadership roles including director of admissions and vice president of operations. Jensen quickly established a successful track record in higher education focusing on student retention rates while improving student learning outcomes. He has quickly become a vital part of the Las Vegas campus which offers career-focused programs in Dental Assisting, Medical Assisting, Medical Billing and Coding, Physical Therapist Assistant, and Respiratory Care.

“I have many responsibilities in this new role, but I will continue my passion for supporting students throughout their academic journey,” said Jensen. “I will focus on a larger operational perspective while still concentrating on the needs of Carrington College students, faculty and staff here in Las Vegas,” added Jensen.

The communities served by Carrington College benefit from its focus on outcome-based learning and the College’s ability to adapt to its changing needs. Faculty, administrators and staff are committed to helping students develop specific vocational knowledge and skills, as well as achieving the core student learning outcomes in information management, technical literacy and professional development.
