Clark County is running three sit-down interviews with three impactful women for the show "Celebrating Women's History Month," to be broadcast throughout March on Clark County Television (CCTV) and on demand on its YouTube channel.
The half-hour show will feature Diana Bennett, a second-generation casino operator; activist Ruby Duncan, who led a protest march on the Las Vegas Strip in 1971 after the state cut welfare aid to women with children by approximately 75%; and Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick, the second woman in the state to serve as Speaker of the Nevada Assembly; a recent Clark County news release said.
"Diana, Ruby and Marilyn define, for all of us in the great state of Nevada, the courage and the tenacity necessary to make a difference in our daily lives," moderator Molly Sullivan said in the release. "The women we celebrate this month put a face on our future and path for all of us to follow. Singing their song of selfless determination to improve the lives of all Nevadans was my most meaningful reporting assignment yet. In fact, consider this my official pitch to host a recurring program, as Clark County is the Strong Women Capital of the world in my book."
Clark County Television can be found on Cox Cable Channel 4 and CenturyLink Channels 4 and 1004, and can be seen in Laughlin via Suddenlink Channel 14, the release said. CCTV is also available in Moapa Valley on Digital Channel 50.3 and in Boulder City on Channel 4. The interviews will be accessible on Facebook by the end of the month.
