If you are interested in becoming a firefighter, the Clark County government is ready to consider your application. The County recently announced that its spring recruiting drive has been extended.
“It’s not an easy process to become a firefighter, but it’s one of the most exciting and professionally rewarding careers you can have because of the critical services we provide our neighbors and visitors,” Clark County Fire Chief John Steinbeck said in a recent release. “We are looking for diverse, highly motivated candidates who have a strong desire to serve our community as first responders.”
Those interested in applying have until May 31 to submit their application through the fire department’s website at JoinCCFD.org.
Details and job requirements about becoming a firefighter can be found by visiting the department’s "Join Our Team/Become a Firefighter" webpage, along with webinars that will go into detail about the process of becoming a firefighter for Clark County, the release said.
Those applying will need to have at least a high school diploma or GED and be in sound shape, the release said. Applicants must also have the ability to pass a written exam and a Candidate's Physical Ability Test, along with a background check. Should an applicant be offered a job, they will train at the department's Fire Academy.
