The Clark County Fire Department is ready to begin its annual "Fill the Fire Truck" holiday toy drive.

The toy drive is held during the first three weeks of December,  a recent news release from the County said. The fire department will be joining the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation in this 21st year of the toy drive.

“The annual toy drive is always a great opportunity to help families in need in our community,” Clark County Fire Chief John Steinbeck said in the release. “Our goal is to collect as many toys and gift cards as possible to make the holidays brighter for local kids of all ages.”

Those interested in donating a toy can do so at any Clark County Fire Station from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Dec. 1 and running through Dec. 18, seven days a week. Rural fire stations will stop accepting donations on Dec. 16.

Local fire departments also will take part in "Fill-the-Truck" toy drives in front of participating Walmart stores from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the weekend of Dec. 3-4 and every subsequent weekend through Dec. 17-18.

The following Wal-Mart locations will be participating: 7200 Arroyo Crossing Parkway/Rainbow & I-215 (Clark County Fire Department location); 201 N. Nellis Blvd./Charleston Blvd.; 6464 N. Decatur Blvd./I-215; 540 Marks St./Sunset Road; and 8060 W. Tropical Parkway (Centennial & U.S. 95).

Additionally, Dec. 19 is the last day to drop off items for the Burn Foundation's toy drive, the release said. The business will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3111 S. Valley View Blvd., Suite B-111, to receive donations. More than 40 regional groups including The Salvation Army, the Boys and Girls Club, churches and schools will receive the toys and gift cards that are gathered during the drive.
