The City of Henderson today announced it received another perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Municipal Equality Index (MEI) for 2022.
The MEI examines how inclusive municipal laws, policies and services are for the LGBTQ+ community members who live and work within the surveyed cities.
For the second consecutive year, the City of Henderson received 100 out of 100 points on the MEI. Criteria evaluated within the MEI include non-discrimination laws, the municipality as an employer, municipal services, law enforcement, LGBTQ+ equality leadership and more.
“Henderson residents can take pride in the work their city is doing to support the LGBTQ+ community and enhance their quality of life so that Henderson is a place for everyone to call home,” said Mayor Debra March. “Achieving once again a perfect score on the Municipal Equality Index is a testament to the City of Henderson’s leadership in promoting equity and inclusion and it is rewarding to see our efforts recognized.”
The 2022 MEI is the eleventh annual edition and rates a total of 506 cities on various equality criteria from every state in the nation.
