Congresswoman Susie Lee, representing Nevada's 3rd district since 2019, shared updates on her legislative efforts through a series of tweets. Her communications focused on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), military pay raises, healthcare improvements for servicemembers in southern Nevada, and housing development initiatives.
On December 12, 2024, Congresswoman Lee highlighted the significance of this year's bipartisan NDAA. She stated that it "makes critical investments in our national security and the military families who make sacrifices every day to keep us safe." "This year's bipartisan #NDAA makes critical investments in our national security and the military families who make sacrifices every day to keep us safe."
In a subsequent tweet on the same day, she elaborated on specific provisions within the NDAA. She noted that it includes "a 14.5% pay raise for junior enlisted servicemembers and a 4.5% raise for all other troops." Furthermore, she expressed pride in securing provisions aimed at improving healthcare for southern Nevada’s servicemembers and enhancing military readiness. "Notably, it includes a 14.5% pay raise for junior enlisted servicemembers and a 4.5% raise for all other troops... I was proud to also secure several provisions to improve health care for southern Nevada’s servicemembers and boost our military readiness."
Later that evening, Congresswoman Lee addressed housing issues by advocating for expedited federal land transfers to facilitate home building and reduce costs. She mentioned having a bill supported by both Republicans and Democrats, including Governor Joseph Lombardo. "Here’s one: speed up federal land transfers so we can build more homes and drive down costs... I’ve got a bill to do it, and it’s supported by Republicans and Democrats – including Gov. @JosephMLombardo"
