Congresswoman Susie Lee, representing Nevada's 3rd district since 2019, has been vocal about healthcare and government contract issues in her recent social media posts. Born in Canton, Ohio, and currently residing in Las Vegas, Lee holds a BA from Carnegie Mellon University.
On March 10, 2025, Congresswoman Lee addressed the shortage of healthcare professionals in Southern Nevada. She stated that "Southern Nevada has a severe shortage of healthcare professionals, and Republican cuts to Medicaid will only make things worse." She emphasized her bipartisan bill aimed at increasing the number of doctors in the community.
In another post on March 11, 2025, she highlighted potential conflicts of interest involving Elon Musk’s companies. Lee pointed out that "Elon Musk’s federal government contracts for Tesla and SpaceX amount to nearly $20 billion—a clear conflict of interest." She questioned whether these contracts are affected by the federal funding freeze.
Later on March 11, 2025, Congresswoman Lee discussed the mismatch between medical graduates and residency slots in Nevada. She noted that "Nevada graduates more medical students than there are residency slots available in our state." Highlighting the inefficiency of training healthcare professionals who then leave the state due to lack of opportunities, she reiterated her support for a bipartisan bill to address this issue.
