Congresswoman Susie Lee, representing Nevada's 3rd district since 2019, has taken to social media to express her concerns about recent political developments. In a series of tweets dated March 13, 2025, she criticizes the Republican-controlled Congress and the White House for their legislative decisions and offers her perspective on issues affecting education and fiscal policy.
In a tweet posted on March 13, 2025, Lee stated that "Republicans have control of Congress and the White House. They’ve refused bipartisanship and proposed a bill that would devastate working Nevada families or lead to a government shutdown." She indicated her readiness to vote for a four-week stopgap funding bill to prevent what she referred to as "the Republican shutdown."
Later that day, in another tweet, Lee questioned the competence of the Secretary of Education by asking: "Seriously? The Secretary of Education doesn’t know what the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act is?" She accused them of planning to cut special education programs and dismantle the Education Department while defunding schools to provide tax breaks for the wealthy. Lee emphasized it as "a fight for our kids."
In her final tweet of the day, Congresswoman Lee expressed willingness to collaborate on reducing waste but criticized Elon Musk's influence on fiscal policy. She tweeted: "I'll work with anyone to cut waste, but Elon Musk's DOGE has done nothing to lower costs for working families." Lee urged three House Republicans to stand against Musk's proposal which she claims favors tax cuts for the rich at others' expense.
