Congresswoman Susie Lee, who represents Nevada’s 3rd district in the U.S. House of Representatives, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing personal experiences with health care, the ongoing situation in Israel involving Hamas, and current congressional inaction in Washington.

On October 7, 2025, Lee recounted her family’s struggles with health care costs after her father lost his job and their health insurance. She wrote, “When my dad was 56, he lost his job – and our health insurance with it. Then, just months before becoming eligible for Medicare, my mom had a heart attack. Their hospital bill was equivalent to the value of our home. No family should ever have to experience debilitating health” (October 7, 2025).

Later that day, Lee commented on the two-year anniversary of a major attack in Israel. She stated, “Two years ago, Hamas terrorists invaded Israel, murdering thousands of innocent civilians and taking hundreds of hostages. This barbaric attack was the single deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust. Today, Hamas still holds 48 hostages in barbaric conditions in” (October 7, 2025).

The following day, Lee criticized congressional attendance and urgency on key issues. She wrote, “The halls of Congress are EMPTY while my Republican colleagues are refusing to show up to save health care for millions of Americans and hold a vote to release the Epstein Files. I’m here in Washington, ready to open our government and stop health care costs from skyrocketing for” (October 8, 2025).

Lee has represented Nevada’s 3rd district since 2019, succeeding Jacky Rosen. She was born in Canton, Ohio in 1966 and currently resides in Las Vegas. Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
