Congresswoman Susie Lee, who represents Nevada’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, used her social media platform on April 16, 2026, to address a range of national and local issues including tax refunds, inflation, Black maternal health disparities, and former President Donald Trump’s visit to Las Vegas.

In a post marking Tax Day on April 16, Lee wrote: “Tax Day is here, and despite promises from Republicans in Washington, you might be disappointed… Refunds are falling 65% short of their promises. Gas prices are soaring. Inflation is at its highest level in years. Americans are now worse off today than before the Big”.

Later that morning, Lee highlighted the anniversary of Black Maternal Health Week and ongoing health inequities in southern Nevada: “This week is the 10-year anniversary of Black Maternal Health Week. In southern Nevada, I’ve been speaking to black health care workers and mothers about how we can solve this public health crisis. Black women are 2-3x more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white”.

On the same day, she also commented on former President Donald Trump’s visit to Las Vegas: “Trump is coming to Las Vegas TODAY. From high gas prices thanks to his war to the tourism slump that his tariffs caused, he has a lot to answer for “.

Lee has served as the representative for Nevada’s 3rd District since 2019 after succeeding Jacky Rosen. She was born in Canton, Ohio in 1966 and currently resides in Las Vegas. Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
