Congresswoman Susie Lee, who represents Nevada’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, has used her social media platform to highlight concerns over recent Medicaid cuts and potential health care cost increases for her constituents.
On October 8, 2025, Lee posted about the impact of Medicaid on families facing medical hardship, writing, “At just 10 months old, Connor fought meningitis, leaving him permanently disabled. Today, Medicaid provides Connor’s family the resources they need to keep their son safe and healthy. But recent cuts to Medicaid could mean financial disaster for Connor’s family. I’m fighting to https://t.co/EfiTbHGfUi”.
Later that day, Lee addressed ongoing partisan gridlock in Washington, D.C., posting, “Day 19 of Republicans deciding they’re more interested in protecting pedophiles than saving health care! While they refuse to return to Washington, I’m here working to prevent health care costs from skyrocketing for ALL Americans.” (October 8, 2025).
In a subsequent post on October 8, Lee focused on the potential financial impact of a government shutdown for Nevada residents: “Nevadans could see their premiums jump from $595 → $2,021 a month — a $1,425 increase for the SAME plan! That is what this shutdown is about. Families in Nevada can’t afford these hikes.”
Susie Lee has served as the U.S. Representative for Nevada’s 3rd District since 2019 after succeeding Jacky Rosen. She was born in Canton, Ohio in 1966 and currently resides in Las Vegas. Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
