The UNLV Hustlin’ Rebels are set to face the Washington State Cougars for their second and final matchup in Mountain West play from April 17 through April 19 at Earl E. Wilson Stadium.
This series is significant as it marks the last time both teams will meet in Las Vegas before Washington State returns to the Pac-12 for the 2027 season. Historically, UNLV leads the all-time series against Washington State by a narrow margin of 14-13, with both teams alternating wins over their last seven games.
Fans can follow live stats and video coverage of this week’s games through links available on UNLVRebels.com and official team social media channels. The two programs have not played each other in Las Vegas since the 2021 season, when Washington State took two out of three games.
Looking back at recent performances, UNLV won two out of three games at Grand Canyon University and secured a midweek road victory against Utah Tech. Key players included Drew Barragan, who has reached base in every game he has played this season; Nin Burns II, who contributed with hits and RBIs; Jack Salmon with multiple singles and RBIs; as well as strong pitching efforts from Yates Bland, Colton Sundloff, Ryan Marton, Jayden Hertel, Carson Lane, Reese Lueck, Jase Evangelista and others.
The current Rebel roster features a large group of newcomers—25 transfers and one true freshman—with several making immediate impacts both offensively and on the mound. Marcos Rosales is noted as having appeared in all contests so far this season. Returning veterans include All-Mountain West First Team honoree Carson Lane along with Cooper Sheff and Gunnar Myro. Lane was also named to the MW’s Preseason All-Conference Team after an impressive previous season highlighted by helping throw UNLV’s first no-hitter since 2003.
Washington State comes into this weekend having won three of its last four weekend series and recently saw its five-game winning streak snapped by Utah Tech. Max Hartman leads WSU nationally in triples while Gavin Roy paces the team offensively with a .374 batting average. The Cougars’ pitching rotation will feature Nick Lewis (Friday), Griffin Smith (Saturday), and Luke Meyers (Sunday).
For the 2026 campaign overall, UNLV baseball will play a total of 55 regular-season games including matchups against NCAA Tournament participants from last year as well as numerous nonconference opponents.
