UNLV’s Veronika Kliuch and Eszter Kis-Czako were named Mountain West Women’s Tennis Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week, respectively, according to a March 11 announcement from the league. This marks the first time either athlete has received these awards.

The recognition comes after both players contributed to a successful weekend for UNLV, where the team achieved three consecutive shutout victories against Seattle, Northern Arizona University, and New Mexico State. The Rebels won all matches by a combined score of 18-0, improving their season record to 7-2.

Kliuch, a sophomore from Lviv, Ukraine, played at the No. 1 singles position and won all three of her matches. Her overall record now stands at 16-2 for the season and she remains undefeated in dual matches with a 9-0 record. In doubles play, Kliuch partnered with Kis-Czako to secure two more wins at the second spot in the lineup. The Rebels have not lost a doubles match in 2026.

Kis-Czako, who hails from Kiskunfelegyhaza, Hungary, also had an impressive showing by winning both of her completed singles matches at the No. 4 position. As a freshman, she has improved her overall record to 13-4 and holds a dual match record of 6-2.

Looking ahead, UNLV will begin its Mountain West conference schedule with its first away match of the season against New Mexico on Friday.
