UNLV women’s golf player Zi Yu Foong has been named the Mountain West Women’s Golfer of the Week, according to an announcement from the conference office. This marks her second career weekly or monthly honor from the Mountain West and her second this season.

Foong, who is originally from Salangor, Malaysia, finished in second place at the Lady Luck Invitational hosted by UNLV at Las Vegas Country Club. She recorded a final score of 1-under 215, including consecutive rounds of 2-under 70 to start the tournament.

Her performance helped her rise to No. 48 in the Scoreboard Powered by Clippd national player rankings. So far this season, she has achieved under-par scores in five out of six tournaments she has played.

Additionally, Foong contributed to UNLV matching its highest team finish of the season with a fourth-place result at the Lady Luck Invitational. The Rebels finished ahead of four teams ranked in the top 50 nationally.

The team will continue its competition schedule with an upcoming event at San Jose State’s Juli Inkster tournament at TPC Harding Park from March 9-10.
