The COVID-19 situation in Nevada continues to improve as the test positivity rate falls in Nevada. As a state that largely depends on tourism for revenue to bolster the economy, the falling positivity rate is an encouraging development.
“TOTAL COVID19 HOSPITALIZATIONS DECLINED IN NEVADA FROM 1,282 TO 1,251 (-31 people) AND IN CLARK COUNTY FROM 1,041 TO 1,008 (-33 people). TEST POSITIVITY RATE CONTINUES TO DECLINE IN NEVADA FROM 14.1% TO 13.8% AND IN CLARK COUNTY FROM 13.2% TO 12.9%,” wrote Dustin Webber, a member of public Facebook group dedicated to tracking progress in the fight against COVID-19 in Nevada.
More of the positive cases in Nevada are coming from outside Clark County as of late. As of Aug. 25, 3,984,890 positive COVID-19 tests have been reported, according to an Aug. 26 8 News Now story.
Over the weekend of Aug. 27, test positivity rates dropped 1%, from 13.7% to 12.7%, 8 News Now reported Aug. 30.
The cases from Clark County are having a significant impact on the total case count for the state, according to the Aug. 30 8 News Now story. August’s last weekend saw 2,799 new cases, with Clark County accounting for 1,778 of them. The county made up 63% of the cases from Aug. 27 through Aug. 29.
