City of Boulder recently issued the following announcement.
The Boulder City Police Department will be on foot in the downtown area of Boulder City this Friday, October 29, 2021 with a goal to let bar patrons know exactly how easy it is to get “Over the Limit” when it comes to drinking and driving.
Officers will be offering bar patrons a chance to guess what their alcohol breath measurement is by utilizing a portable breath alcohol machine which patrons can volunteer to get tested. Water and prizes will be offered to participants along with a coupon for a ride-share.
This is strictly a Non-Enforcement Education Campaign with a goal of helping others drink more responsibly. “It is amazing to me how many DUI drivers I have arrested who honestly believed they were far under the limit, but actually were quite impaired,” says Sergeant Tiffany Driscoll. “We hope this is a good way to start conversations and help people understand the impact of impairment.”
To participate, look for BCPD’s community policing tent and officers on the corner of Nevada Way and Arizona St. this Friday night starting at 5:00 p.m.
