Residents can now enjoy traveling down the newly renovated Ft. Apache Road in Las Vegas.
The makeover included water improvements, traffic signal enhancements and making Ft. Apache Road wider from Warm Springs to Huntington Cove Parkway; a Clark County news release said.
The general contractor for the project was the Holcim company, and the enhancement was on par with those conducted in 2021 to Ft. Apache from Tropicana Avenue to Warm Springs Road.
“This project added new bike lanes, sidewalks, streetlights, and travel lanes for vehicles in this heavily-used corridor in the southwest valley,” County Commissioner Justin Jones said in the release.
An additional phase will start next that will run from Huntington Cove to Blue Diamond Road.
These are just a few of the projects the county will see, the release said. The new Southwest Ridge Park off Grand Canyon Drive will open in the coming months, and a new bicycle park at the intersection of Ft. Apache and Warm Springs is anticipated for construction in the coming year.
“We are working to make this area safer for drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians, and I look forward to the next phase, which will extend these improvements all the way to Blue Diamond Road,” Jones said.
