Congresswoman Susie Lee, representing Nevada's 3rd district since 2019, recently addressed several issues through her social media platform. Her comments covered topics ranging from employment concerns in Nevada to gender pay disparities and the importance of air traffic controllers for Las Vegas tourism.
On March 24, 2025, Congresswoman Lee highlighted the reemployment of workers previously laid off by Elon Musk’s DOGE at Lake Mead. She stated, "Earlier this year, 13 southern Nevadans were recklessly laid off by Elon Musk’s DOGE at Lake Mead, threatening the safety and health of our public lands. I stood with these public servants then, and I'm glad to see they now have their jobs back."
The following day, on March 25, she marked Equal Pay Day by drawing attention to ongoing wage disparities between men and women. In her tweet, she noted that "It’s March 25th, 2025, which is the day women’s paychecks finally catch up to men’s paychecks. That’s because women still make 75 cents to a man’s dollar — meaning it takes women almost 15 months to make what a man does in 12. It’s time to close the wage gap."
Later that same day, Congresswoman Lee discussed the critical role of air traffic controllers in supporting Las Vegas's tourism industry. She mentioned her meeting with representatives from NATCA at Harry Reid International Airport: "Vegas relies on tourism. And to make that tourism possible, we need to support the air traffic controllers who keep our skies & airports safe. It was great meeting some @NATCA folks from Harry Reid today to discuss their staffing issues & how to get them the resources they need."
