At Carrington College many of us are familiar with Irving Wohl. You may have read about him in the East Valley Tribune, a Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper in Arizona. Maybe you saw him get his teeth cleaned at our Dental Hygiene clinic at the Carrington College Mesa campus for his 105th birthday, which was featured on NBC Channel 12 News.
Irving was an inspiration to our students, and as a World War II hero who received almost a dozen medals (Bronze Star, Purple Heart, etc.), he was also a big fan of Carrington College. That is why he chose to get his teeth cleaned every birthday by our Dental Hygiene students for years. We even have a picture from his 100th birthday on the wall at our Carrington College Mesa clinic lobby.
So in remembrance of Irving and his commitment to our community, we would like to announce a new Dental Hygiene scholarship in his honor called the Irving Wohl Memorial Scholarship. Irving will always be remembered by our students and this scholarship is dedicated to his legacy and impact on the community. Click here to learn more.
Carrington’s Dental Hygiene program prepares graduates to work with dentists in providing dental treatments and best health practices. Graduates earn an associate of science degree and are prepared to take the Dental Hygiene National Board, as well as state or regional clinical licensing examinations. To learn more about a career as a Dental Hygienist, check out our career guide.
Carrington College prepares students to take appropriate certification and licensure exams related to their individual majors. The College does not guarantee students will successfully pass these exams or be certified or licensed as a result of completing the program.
