The City of Henderson has announced the approval of a new indoor sports complex in West Henderson. The City Council unanimously approved the project, which will be located behind Chicken N Pickle at the southeast corner of St. Rose and Maryland Parkways.

Introduced for public feedback on May 21, the planned 180,000 square-foot facility will feature basketball courts convertible to volleyball and pickleball uses, hybrid turf fields for sports like indoor soccer and box lacrosse, birthday party rooms, community rooms, and family entertainment options including bowling, laser tag, arcade games, miniature golf, a restaurant, and a bar.

Through a public-private partnership with KemperSports—a leader in sports, hospitality, and entertainment management—the City aims to provide additional recreational amenities without long-term financial impact on taxpayers. Henderson residents will receive 20% discounts on all event programming and activities.

“This will be a tremendous facility that fills a need not only in the growing area of West Henderson but in Southern Nevada as well,” said Henderson City Manager and CEO Richard Derrick. “Nowhere in the valley has a sports complex like this, and we are proud to be innovative when it comes to public-private partnerships.”

The complex is expected to attract local and regional sports tournaments and support the City's Economic Vitality strategic priority with an anticipated annual tax revenue of $1.5 million, total economic output of $39.1 million annually, and $10.7 million in wages and salary.

The project represents a $70-million investment funded through private third-party partners and one-time funding sources such as public infrastructure bond sales, the West Henderson Development Fund, and the City Municipal Facilities Fund.
