Boulder City police walked the streets, teaching people about the danger of drinking and driving on Friday, Oct. 29, Fox 5 reported.
"This is strictly a non-enforcement education campaign with a goal of helping others drink more responsibly," the police department said on Facebook.
As part of the "Know Your Limit" campaign, the officers offered bar customers the chance to guess their alcohol levels with a breathalyzer machine, Fox 5 reported.
"It is amazing to me how many DUI drivers I have arrested who honestly believed they were far under the limit, but actually were quite impaired,” police Sgt. Tiffany Driscoll said in a news release. “We hope this is a good way to start conversations and help people understand the impact of impairment.”
Customers who participated were given water, prizes and rideshare coupons, the story said.
"Our first 'KNOW YOUR LIMIT' night had over 70 participants who had the chance to see where their breath alcohol was, and many were surprised by the results!" the police department said in another Facebook post. "Keep following us on social media for future program dates and locations as we continue to take to the streets to educate."
